Definition of magical abilities.
The layout is quite large (28 cards). In the original was a scheme, for this beautiful scheme of calculations no one has developed. If the table allows - lay out a rectangular block 7x4, if it does not allow - I collect in seven stacks seven cards and the path in the right order. You can put cards into the deck after each block, you can not invest (I prefer the second method, but the first one can give interesting results on repetitions).
The first block is Man.
1. Spirit - the Ego, the core of personality.
2. Fire - Will
3. Water - Intuition
4. Air - Intelligence
5. Earth - Potential - magical power, if one can say so. The limit of abilities.
6. Conscious - What is realized by man as a manifestation of his magical abilities.
7. Unconscious - What is manifested in life, but does not connect with the presence of abilities.
With a weak or negative first block, the layout can be terminated. Before us, "Muggle" or "squib" :) By the way, it is recommended in most cases. But even if so, the first seven cards can give a good integral characteristic of the person.
Block Two - Magician
1. Stimulus - What stimulates the ability. Under what conditions they are amplified.
2. Block - What blocks abilities. What prevents to develop or under what conditions they weaken.
3,4,5 - Path - How to develop the ability, which way to follow. To develop at all.
6. Plus - What will be gained as a result of development
7. Less - What will be lost as a result of development.
Block Three - Spheres
1. The sun is a physical body. Treatment, acupuncture, bioenergetics.
2. The moon is a mantle. All kinds and ways, from astrology to taro.
3. Mercury - the effect on the mind. Psychology, autotrenings, NLP, just dentition.
4. Venus - love magic. Spells, lapels, the construction of channels between people.
5. Mars - the negative. All sorts of damage and muck. Maybe only small ones.
6. Jupiter - business magic. The opening of roads, fame, wealth and so on. Working with rooms, protective amulets - everything should be here.
7. Saturn - this is what I would call "higher magic." Those interested can include here work with karma and previous incarnations. Since I myself do not like these concepts terribly (and I do not see a way to test such a useful "skill"), one can attribute here the most "awful" abilities. If the strong "Mars", then the heavy card here will show the ability for serious mucks, a strong "Venus" - a forerunner of the highest standard, "Moon" - a fortune-teller "from God", etc.
Block Four - Skills
1. Symbolic systems - runes, taro, sigils and seals. All magic is symbolic, but here we work with symbols in pure form. Work with your head.
2. Ritualika - here work is conducted with objects or preparations. We work with our hands.
3. Work with spirits and essences - challenge and expulsion, in the first place. We work as external sources. Notorious egregors can also be brought here.
4. Extrasensory perception - clairvoyance, diagnosis. Mantiki, by and large, psychics. But some need crutches. Senoscrack, perception is no longer an effect, we work with feelings.
5. Conspiracies and affirmations - work with voice, spells, but here and NLP and a bunch of all kinds of psychological buns, and prayers.
6. Items - this block indicates the ability to work with various magic items. First of all, this refers to the Western ceremonial magic (not to be confused with our ritolik) with its four instruments of the elements, but it is still well associated with the manufacture of magical attributes. This candles, and decks, and runes, and actually magical things - seals, amulets and amulets. With a strong ritualics show a good job with pads.
7. Theoretical magic is also a multi-purpose map. He will show both the general "education", and the ability to fall prey to magical science, to have disciples, can be a good companion of the "Saturn" map, because the higher magic requires a good theoretical underpinning.
The third and fourth blocks give a radically new opportunity to evaluate their skills. You can consider them as a kind of table, according to which it is convenient to determine not only their skills, but also the way they manifest themselves. Therefore, it is important to evaluate both the cards within one block and their intersections. A strong "Psychic" with a strong "Moon" will show rather, the clairvoyant, and the same "Moon" with "Symbolic Systems" will give an astrologer, a tarologist or a rune mantle. "Venus" and "Mars" with "Ritualika" will be shown to the classic village witch of the village, if everything is well with the "Sun" and "Conspiracies", it can be a double-faced. "Sun" with "Psychic", respectively, will give a good diagnostician or healer, and with separate maps of at least manual therapist.
As with most layouts, any deck is applicable here, I'm used to using Deviant Moon Tarot for these purposes. Its specificity, naturally, is reflected in the interpretation, giving some positions special shades or even specifically different from the classical decks. But this universal rule, the features of the deck should always be taken into account.
